Should We All Be Wearing Rubber Clogs?
A divisive footwear choice that seems to spark strong opinions—you’re either all in or can’t stand them. Personally, I’m team love, so here are 6 ways to style them and where to find the best ones.

Once the humble uniform of gardeners and nurses, rubber clogs have somehow stomped their way into fashion territory. They’re practical, weatherproof, surprisingly versatile, and, if we’re being honest, a little ridiculous—but in the best way. Whether you’re into the minimalist vibe of KASSL Editions or just appreciate a shoe that doubles as a conversation starter, it’s hard to ignore their unexpected charm.
In this issue, I’m exploring all things rubber clogs—how I’m styling them six ways and where to find the ones worth stepping into.
The Best Rubber Clogs On The Market Right Now
Below is a round-up of some of the best rubber clogs available right now. Personally, I swear by my KASSL x Tretorn ones, but Bottega Veneta also has fantastic options, including this sleek black pair that goes with just about anything (find it in khaki below). For some bolder colours, I’m loving the checkered clogs from Burberry and these playful purple ones. Also loving these from Prada, and when on a budget, these Birkenstocks are just as fine.
Proenza Schouler recently joined the rubber clog game in collaboration with Sorel. Their designs blend Sorel’s iconic Caribou boots and mules with Proenza Schouler’s sleek edge, making them ideal for transitional weather or anyone looking to elevate their off-duty looks.

Not Rubber, Not Exactly Clogs—But Still Worth a Mention
These pairs don’t strictly fit the rubber clog category (some aren’t even clogs—let’s call them slip-ons), but they’re worth a mention for capturing a similar vibe with a twist. Whether in leather or technical sneaker fabrics, they offer alternative ways to channel the ease and versatility of clogs while suiting different styles and needs. Definitely on my radar. And most of these are unisex, too.

Wrapping Things Up
After pulling this newsletter together, I’ve come away with a few notes and ideas for myself. First, it’s time to invest in more and truly great socks, as they’re the unsung heroes of styling clogs and/or loafers. Second, I could have included more kick-flare pants. They’re great for clogs and slip-ons. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for pairs in interesting cuts and fabrics.
Finally, I’m already looking ahead to a summer edition of clog styling. I can picture pairing them with breezy mini skirts, tailored shorts and ankle bracelets. There’s something exciting about thinking of clogs as a year-round wardrobe staple. Who knows—by the time summer rolls around, I might even experiment with clogs as beachwear (or is that going too far?).
