Not That Golden Jewellery Edit
If gold isn’t your thing, you’re in the right place. Sharing my silver collection, standout brands, and a few pieces I’ve got my eye on.
I’m Jess, a creative director and brand consultant based in Brussels, focused on strong visual ideas across fashion, culture, and living. In Bare Form is a space where I share my curated musings and scribblings. Here, you’ll find a blend of thoughts on style, design, travel, and culture—all reflecting my approach to beautiful things. Thank you so much for reading.
Don’t get me wrong—I can absolutely vibe with golden jewellery. But at my core, I’m a silver girl through and through. A few years ago, I started building my signature silver stack, and it’s been a love affair ever since. I don’t mix metals—silver and gold stay in their own lanes in my book (no shade to those who do, it’s just not my thing), so this newsletter is about all things jewellery—minus the gold. I’ll be sharing pieces from my personal collection, highlighting some favorite brands, and showcasing a few things currently on my wish list.
My personal collection
I have been a fan of Bleue Burnham for the longest time, a fine jewellery brand based in London that combines timeless beauty with a deep connection to nature. Founded by Bleue Wickham-Burnham in 2018, the brand has since created pieces that embody both luxury and naturalism. Their meticulous research into human culture and the natural world shines through in every design.

My collection includes two pieces from Rejina Pyo, a London-based fashion designer known for her sculptural silhouettes and bold use of color. Since launching her label in 2013, Rejina has gained global recognition for her ability to blend art and fashion, drawing inspiration from culture, travel, and the strong women around her.

Lately, I’ve been really drawn to the elegance of thin leather straps as accessories. There’s something about their understated simplicity that adds a subtle contrasting edge to any look, whether worn as delicate bracelets, necklaces, or even used to tie back a loose hairstyle.

That’s all I’ll share from my personal jewellery collection for now. There are a few other special pieces I keep close, but perhaps I’ll share them another time.
Brands on my wish list
Santangelo
SANTANGELO is a jewellery brand that captures the spirit of summer—freedom, nostalgia, and sensuality. With roots in California and Sydney, and now based in New York, each handmade piece blends elements of club culture, surf vibes, and nature, crafted from pearls, shells, and precious metals. I also love how they introduce the idea of modular jewellery—like the piece on the right, which can be worn both as a necklace and an anklet. This one is very high on my wish list right now.

D’heygere
I don’t even know where to begin describing this brand. Belgian-based D’heygere, founded by Stephanie D’Heygere, takes a radically unconventional approach to jewellery design. Known for its playful yet functional pieces, D’heygere reimagines everyday materials into bold, minimalist adornments. Collaborating with names like Longchamp and Bic, the brand explores the balance between luxury and the ordinary, turning accessories into personal, wearable statements.

All Blues
The go-to brand for sleek minimalism, designed for everyday wear, manufactured in Sweden. Founded in Stockholm in 2009, the brand aims to offer a fresh perspective on contemporary jewellery. Each piece is handcrafted by a third-generation family-run goldsmith atelier, using recycled precious metals sourced locally.

Sophie Buhai
Eventually, most of the inspiration in this newsletter leads back to this brand. I don’t think there’s anything better than Sophie Buhai. Founded in 2015, the brand creates heirloom-quality modernist jewellery designed to last beyond trends. Melding minimalism with surrealism, each collection features a thoughtful balance of proportion and scale. Known for sterling silver, pearls, onyx, and lapis, Sophie Buhai’s pieces embody timelessness, whether it’s their sculptural seasonal designs or the classic core collection. All designed in Hollywood and made in downtown Los Angeles.

And then some..
I’m certain I’ve forgotten to mention a million other incredible brands, so here’s a quick list of a few more pieces I’m liking right now.
Paloma Wool Green Mabel Necklace (a more affordable version of Sophie Buhai’s boule collar)
Jil Sander Small Hoop Earrings (now on sale, perfect for the every-day!)
Pauline De Roover, anything from her new Pillow Talk collection. A lovely Belgian brand, owned by a friend of a friend!
A dream in the making?
Writing this newsletter has really made me reflect on my love for jewellery in a deeper way. I’ve always been drawn to unconventional pieces that tell a story, but recently, as I’m in my second year of leather classes, I’ve started imagining how I could combine the two. I have been daydreaming about launching a leather bags and accessoires label—and ever since starting this newsletter, I have been inspired to create an oversized handbag that incorporates hardware which doubles as modular and interchangeable jewellery. A new project I’ll be happy to tackle in class.
Signing off with this hilarious little (or rather, big) gem from the 90s—an impractical yet iconic Dior ring my mom gave me as a kid. It even has two shades of lip balm hidden inside.
Hope you enjoyed reading this! Your support means the world to me, so if this brought a little inspiration your way, I’d be thrilled if you’d follow along or give a like.
Here’s to more musings, discoveries, and, of course, those barely dressed moments. Until next time.
