Budgeting Diaries: May Recap + Styling My New Buys
A month of some unexpected, but classic wins.
Welcome back to Budgeting Diaries, my monthly series where I track exactly how much I spend on fashion, what I buy, and how I style it. The goal? To stay within a €3000 yearly budget.
Curious about why I’m doing this and how the whole thing works? You can start with my first post here:
May spend
Acne Studios white sneakers, bought at local stock sale €40
Vintage Max Mara trench coat in black €100
Vintage Max Mara black cashmere tee €15
Vintage Max Mara ecru v-neck vest €5
I also sold something on Vinted for €100, which leaves my budget at €2227,25 (equals €318,18 per month for the remaining 7 months of the year).
At a local flea market, I crossed paths with a fabulous older lady who was selling off a lifetime’s worth of Max Mara, nothing else. Hence the unusually high Max Mara count this month. The trench coat is a total classic, and the v-neck vest (see look 3) was exactly what I’d been hunting for this summer. My prediction is we’ll be seeing tops like this with a high v-neck everywhere soon.
The Acne Studios sneakers were another great find at just €40, found at the stock sale of one of my favourite shops in Brussels. A classic, understated pair for days when you don’t feel like making a big sneaker statement (which is most days, actually) but still want the same level of comfort. The newest version of this sneaker is actually even better. Also available for men.
